• In the Mouth of Madness (1995)
Hobb's End is the mysterious New Hampshire town where Sutter Cane lives, in John Carpenter's In the Mouth of Madness (1995) it is also mentioned as one of Sutter Cane's novels The Hobb's End Horror. John Carpenter is a fan of the Quatermass movies and has written under the pseudonym Martin Quatermass.

• The Tommyknockers (1993)
The writer and critic Kim Newman, has claimed that Steven King "more or less rewritten Quatermass and the Pit in The Tommyknockers." later to be made into a television mini series released in 1993.

• The Quatermass Experiment (1953)
Duncan Lamont who played Sladden also played Victor Carroon in the television version of The Quatermass Experiment (1953).

• Quatermass and the Pit (1958)
Noel Howlett who played the Abbey Librarian also played the vicar in the television version Quatermass and the Pit (1958).

• Dr Who - The Dæmons (1971)
In the Dr Who serial The Dæmons an archaeological dig takes place at the Devil's Hump near to the village of Devil's End. This serial bears a striking resemblance to the Quatermass and the Pit story.

• Hob is an old word for the devil, it is also used to mean a supernatural creature that is a mischievous trouble maker (Hobgoblin).
