A Vietnam War veteran, Jacob Singer (Tim Robbins) is living with his girlfriend and trying to lead a normal life. He starts experiencing scary flashbacks of when he was wounded during active service in Vietnam, and terrifying hallucinations of which he assumes to be demons. A meeting with one of his war buddies who served with him offers some clue as to the cause of his hallucinations as his friend admits to also having similar visions. The pair decides that they need to find out exactly what took place when they were in Vietnam.
