Regeneration (1997)
Director: Gillies MacKinnon
Certification: 15
Reviewed: 17/11/05
Also Known As: Behind the Lines (U.S.A.), Renaissance (Canada, French)
Practically every story that involves the First World War cannot help but have an anti war message, Regeneration is no different. It tells a powerful story of the war through the eyes of the mental casualties at the Craiglockhart war hospital and the meeting of the renowned poets Siegfried Sassoon and Wilfred Owen. Sassoon is sent to Craiglockhart after his 'declaration against the war', rather than being court marshalled he was sent to the hospital as a victim of shell shock. Stars Jonathan Pryce, James Wilby, Jonny Lee Miller and Stuart Bunce. Thoroughly recommended.

Repo Man is pretty well 'out there' as it goes, repo men, aliens, punks, cults, neutron radiation, government agents, united fruitcakes, a Chevy Malibu automobile etc. All these ingredients go into the blender and comically out pops Alex Cox's Repo Man. Otto (Emilio Estevez ) is on a road to nowhere, he really isn't getting anywhere in life, stacking shelves, hanging out with his punk buddies and arsing around. That is until he meets Bud (Harry Dean Stanton) a repo man with a code to live by. Repo Man is a fun b-movie treat that should not be missed.
