A Ghost Story for Christmas

Overview

Synopsis

After the successful 'Whistle and I'll Come to You' (1968) the BBC produced eight adaptations of ghostly tales over consecutive years. The first five of these dramas were adapted from stories by the renowned British author, M.R. James, the other three were adapted from tales by Charles Dickens, Clive Exton and John Bowen. Collectively they were broadcast under the series title 'A Ghost Story for Christmas'. This lethargic series was revived in 2005 and to date there have been two extra M. R. James adaptations broadcast on BBC Four.
