Introduction

Hammer House of Horror Filming Locations. Hampden House in Great Hampden, Buckinghamshire, was purchased by Hammer for the headquarters of their operations and was also widely used for internal and external scenes, including the opening credits. The local area was also extensively used for on-location outdoor scenes as well as the interior filming as Hammer had no studio facilities at that time. The beautiful countryside of South Buckinghamshire would provide an excellent backdrop for the many horrors to come.
