Episode 1 - The Undiscovered Country

Journalist Tom Crane travels to Edinburgh in the search of the elusive Edward Drexil, a powerful master of the occult. Drexil provides a terrifying demonstration of his powers by way of a warning to Tom to leave Edinburgh. The Journalist does not heed this warning and pays dearly for his unwillingness to flee. It also turns out that Tom possesses psychic powers of his own, which have not gone unnoticed by a highly-secret government organisation called Department 7.

Roy Martindale has some tests for Tom Crane, the new boy at Department 7. They prove that Tom is just what they have been looking for as he is a capable psychic. The team investigate the case of a man who apparently had become possessed, and had broken his workmate's back in a notorious old house where Edward Drexil had once lived. How will the gifted 'sensitive' fare in the house of evil is anyone's guess.

Several villagers have reported strange noises, Pictish warriors dancing around the neighbouring hillsides and dogs going mad. Not being deterred by the bizarre nature of the report, Tom Crane goes off to investigate. After interviewing a few of the villagers Tom returns to Edinburgh to find his brother Michael in hospital, raving mad, even though he was supposedly on a holiday in Austria. The military are somehow involved, using an experimental high frequency device for purposes of which are unknown.
Episode 4 - After-Image

On a journey from Scotland to Paris, Anne Reynold is abducted near Dunbar and taken to an installation where Edward Drexil is running tests on brainwashing. Anne is told that she suffered concussion due to a fall and had in fact made the journey to the Centre of Hypnosis in Paris, which was her intended destination. Department 7 finds out something has happened to Anne, so Tom Crane goes to find out exactly what.
