Out of the Unknown

Overview

Synopsis

Out of the Unknown is a science fiction and supernatural 'psychological suspense' anthology series which was broadcast by the BBC between 1965 and 1971. The first three series were entirely science fiction tales, many of which were adapted from renowned writers such as Isaac Asimov, John Wyndham, Ray Bradbury, J.G. Ballard and Frederick Pohl. The fourth series took a slide away from adult science fiction into the realm of horror and the supernatural, as it was felt that the low budget series could not compete against other more extravagant productions. Much of Out of the Unknown has either been lost or destroyed and for most of us it will remain unknown.
